This documentary is about the eruption in Grímsvötn underneath the Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland in 1996 and shows very vividly the affects an eruption of this magnitude can have on the surrounding landscape. Grímsvötn is a most active volcanic area in Iceland and has erupted five times since 1983. Grimsvötn is currently erupting and the eruption started around 7:30 PM on 21 May 2011.
