In a world of globalization, fast food, and supermarkets, two brothers are determined to hold on to the old ways. Kjötborg is a corner shop in Reykjavik, run by two eccentric brothers in the form of social shopkeeping rather than a profit-making business.
Armed with humor and good intentions the brothers fight a battle against more efficient models of consumption. How far do you go to help your fellow neighbor and how many phrases can you possibly know on the topic of potatoes and chewing gum? This is an unusual love story, a funny and intimate film that shows the art of shopkeeping in a new light.
